Durjoy Desk: The powerful super typhoon ‘Mawar’ is approaching at a speed of 175 to 185 km per hour. This category 3 typhoon is currently moving towards Japan while staying near the Southeast Asian countries of the Philippines and Taiwan.

Typhoon ‘Mower’ has already hit the US territory of Guam and caused extensive damage. Nearly all of Guam’s 52,000 residents lost power. However, no casualties were reported.

The Philippine Meteorological Department said the typhoon is continuing to strengthen. Thunderstorm and landslide warnings have been issued in most parts of the country.

Typhoon ‘Mower’ will pass over Japan after Friday after losing strength after hitting Japan’s Naha Island.

Among the typhoons that hit the world in May, experts have placed ‘Mawar’ among the five strongest typhoons.
